AMERICANS HELPING THAILAND
Mae Hong Son, Thailand
In May 2006, God put it on my heart to do something more for the country that allowed me to adopt 2 wonderful boys! Through many church connections, we found a small school high in the mountains of Mae Hong Son, Thailand that was in need of a new canteen building, and could not get the help from their government that they needed. Phayer School and village are nestled on the side of a mountain and consists of a couple hundred Karen Thai Hilltribe people who are trying to survive by farming cabbages and pumpkins. Paa Yer has no water or electricity as of now.
My contact person, in Thailand, has been a teacher named Tew. She sent us pictures of the children eating their lunch on the floor because they did not have a building with tables and chairs for lunch. It touched our hearts, and the hearts of many, as we fundraised for the next 9 months. We raised the money for the canteen, a new laptop for Tew, 500 lbs of clothes, sneakers, and sports equipment for the children!

My 3 children and myself, flew over to Thailand on June 2, 2007. We spent 2 weeks there getting to know the people, their way of life, and their needs. The children were so thankful for their new clothes and shoes... many only had one outfit and most owned only one pair of flip flops. The school was grateful for the new sports equipment. We worked side by side with the people on the canteen. Even the children helped by carrying water from the village for the concrete and in bucket brigade lines when pouring the concrete.

When we left, we felt as though we had helped do a good thing, but there are so many more things they need...
They have asked us not to abandon them and to please continue to help! I'm not sure exactly what the future holds, I'm leaving that in God's hands, but I do know in my heart - I'm not done helping these people! I have also learned that I can't do it alone!
Check out the next few pages to get more of a feel for the people, their needs, and what the Lord has helped us to accomplish so far!
I DARE U 2 CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
